Uncertainty

Do not be stuck at the
uncertainty of who you are.
Revel in it,
play as wildly as the light does
when it splits into the million colours
and let all your hues be as definite as each of them
Ask the question
Enter the prism
Come out a rainbow.

The Truth

There is an emptiness inside you
ever looming like a shadow behind
don't fight it, don't run away
and whatever you do
don't ignore it
let it take you and tear you into peices
swallow you whole
merge with your heart and soul
listen to it, it is you
it is what you want to be
beneath your skin, in your bones
let it take you places
allow it to seek your quests
let it dip you into darkness
again and again and again
until you shine
like the brightest of nights

There is an emptiness inside you
embrace it
that is the only you can ever fill the void

A tree died

A tree died near my office
this afternnon
tall and old, lazy as a tray
It did nothing much
just made
the sky look good sometimes
I think
it talked to the day

Maybe it was friends
with the building beside
maybe they laughed together
in the night
I don't know really
never bothered to ask
of what its job was
or why it came
and stood where it stayed

I should have, though.

or at least taken
a photograph with it
so that I won't forget
all the strange angles it made
when it did nothing much all day

Give me a pen

Give me a pen, and I shall write
about a million things and life
about incomplete friendships and
the magic of your smile
the twisting, turning tales
of time
of senseless poems
and bewildering lines
of whiskey and cigarettes on a tall balcony
that made me king for the night
and childhood memories of innocent delights
about an inky blue ocean and starlit skies
Give me a pen, and I shall write
Or at least I’ll try

Daydream

I looked at nothing today
And dreamt about a place
Where the wind rushes to your hair
Like a lover’s hand
And a Piano constantly plays,
to songs about a bridge
That lay over a river of silver blue
Breathing over her curves and drops
Never touching, never dropping
Waiting for her to blush

I dreamt of a place
Where words rebel against lines half meant
Take back their meanings, their homes inside our head
Make travels to our hearts
To light up smiles, skies
Where everyone knows
That words can make us wonder, hold hands
Swim oceans in a bottle onto washed up sands
Make beautiful things
In a world of gloom

I dreamt of a place where I was truly free
From mad men and their mad dreams
Where time did not dictate
My early or my late
Where morning suns are spent chasing hills
And nightly skies unfold a play
So beautiful and dark,
That a wonder always lasts
way past the worlds of waking curtains
I looked at nothing today
And dreamt about a place
Maybe far far away

Many Whole Caboodles

There are universes we live in
One yours and the other mine
You will never know the music here
And I can never complete your rhyme

Times we share,
But heads we keep. Selfish

So here we go our separate ways,
In and out of the worlds we rake
Friends once, strangers in make
Awkward scenes in pitiful takes

But this is just a small little part
For there will be
Other million caboodles on a summer plane
Of what is to be, to do, to see
to sigh with, to pleasure with a smiling plea
There, I shall see you again.

The Language and I

We were close, once
The Language and I
I was her lover
And she was my pride
Now we sit here
In a room from yesterday
The air still smells of words exclaimed
And the cold fire sheds dismay
She doesn't talk to me any more
Clenching to the fray
Doesn't whisper secrets
Doesn't hold my gaze
And someday soon from now
She shall leave
And all I’ll have to hold
would be the reminisce
of a beautiful day
But what I fear the most,
Is that I may not care.
